miss that old collegue though, working wif her made me wrk my pants off 2 pick up chim Mandarin ASAP cos she's able 2 speak MANDARIN only, so we need a translater 24\7 esp when we need 2 relate 2 each other n she will go take her chinese-eng translator gadget n i will go ask other tchr hw 2 say, funny laa thinking back..that was how we communicate everyday which in the end up laughing everyday cos it's like chicken n duck talking..well thgs picked up, by the end of the yr, i hv improved a lil on my Mandarin verbal skills n she can speak slightly simple english sentences..

The HSBC TreeTop Walk (HSBC TTW) is the highlight of several long hiking routes in MacRitchie that brings you through different stages of mature secondary forest.
The first of its kind in Singapore and in the region, this free-standing suspension bridge connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie and offers a bird’s eye view of the community of plants and animals that live in the forest canopy. The total length of the walkway is about 250m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point
at 25m.
Besides providing another avenue for nature recreation for Singaporeans, the HSBC TTW will also play an important role in forest canopy research, an area many researchers were not able to get into because of lack of access. This bridge will help to facilitate surveys and plant identification work and further our
understanding of how forest ecosystems work.
How do we get there? The walk to the TreeTop Walk from Venus Drive is along the
The distance to the TreeTop Walk is approximately 4.5 km (1.5-2 hrs walk) from the reservoir park and 2.5 km (45 mins- 1 hr walk) from the carpark at Venus Drive.
The HSBC TreeTop Walk is accessible from MacRitchie Reservoir
Park via 1) MacRitchie Nature Trail (indicated as Route 3 on map) or from 2)Venus Drive, off Upper Thomson Road.
Island Club Road at the present time. This is a temporary access and a permanent
one is being planned. Look out for vehicles and walk in single
files.

Sat, Sun and Public Holidays: 8.30 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.
Note: The HSBC TTW is closed on Mondays except public holidays for maintenance and research.
Do we need to pay?
There is no admission charge at the moment.
How many people can the HSBC TTW accommodate?
For the comfort and enjoyment of all visitors, we will be restricting visitor numbers to 30 pax at any one time as well as visitor flow. The traffic along the walkway is one-way. Therefore, visitors will enter via the ranger post at Bukit Peirce and exit at Bukit Kalang and continue on to the Petaling Trail.
What can we see up there?
Instead of arching their necks to observe the canopy, visitors are now able to catch a glimpse of the vibrant “high life” of the forest at their eye level. From this high vantage point, nature enthusiasts will be able to have a closer observation of the
animal community in the canopy or take a peek at the flowers or fruits of tall trees and climbers and their pollination activities. A preliminary survey on the HSBC TTW has identified the following flora and fauna:
- 80 birds including 16 forest specialists. Some of these forest birds include the Drongo Cuckoo, Chestnut-bellied Malkoha, Thick-Billed Green-Pigeon, Asian Fairy Bluebird and the Green Leafbirds.
- 8 reptiles including the Black-bearded Dragon and the Clouded Monitor that sleeps on the Terentang tree at night
- 18 rare trees and climbers including the Cheng Tng Tree (Scaphium macropodum) and Cyathocalyx ridleyi.
Are there any resting stops along the 11km-route?
A Ranger Station is located at the cross road of the 11 km- hiking route (Route 4) around the MacRitchie Reservoir. It serves as a convenient resting point, with basic amenities such as toilets and a water cooler, and an information kiosk for users.
There are no vending machines or food vendors in the reserve. Be sure to bring enough water with you. Carry water bottles and snacks in a backpack to avoid attracting the monkeys and refrain from eating in their presence.
There are also no litter bins in the reserves so carry your litter with you and dispose in a bin outside the forest.
There are also two shelters at the 2.8 km and 5 km mark along the route. The ranger station will be manned from 8am to 5pm.

As u see, been bz 2 update..Just handed in my assignment few days back..well well lemme see i have 4 or 5 more assignments 2 go...Shucks..Anw i received my Obs 1 assignment back, thought i was going 2 flop that since the teacher was strict with her marks but am very pleased 2 see my results thou..effort n sleepless nights definitely worth it..

Went Town for a glimpse of the GSS, have 2 practically bind my wallet that day..Anw had a complimentary head n shoulder massage at 1 of the booths outside meritus mandarin..So nice..

Then Mom n Granny were discussing on some court spat that involves our distant relative who was a lawyer..upon putting her clients interests 1st,she ended up got herself in some court drama..It's hell of a big Case..Though I may not be close 2 her or known her well enough, But she's the apple of the eye and the most high achiever in her family as what iI recall of..Just One little wrong step,everything's at stake now..My dear cuzin, pls b strong in facing this ordeal and dear Aunty,ur daughter was trying her best to win a case and she might not b able 2 guess that this will b the turnout and do stay by her side n give her the moral support needed...B strong too
*Pray to God, she will b fine and that everythg will turn out okay 4 her*
This piece of news open up my lazy n tired eyes real bIG!! So then,I slowly got up 2 get ready for wrk..Oh Man i gotta OT for 1 1/2h ystdy,worked for 10hrs..And this is just the start of the OTss
well, well the month of June signifies the month I'll just teach
the N1 and without any reasons said Im appointed the form mistress of the class..So whatever it is, Im not given a choice and missed
the K2 loads sehh..They keep asking me whether Am I gonna leave them forever like their Chinese teacher?? So the past few days, they've been hugging me etc scared that i will leave them 2 althogh I have assured them n all...wrote for me cards alsoo..~soo touched~
Back 2 my N1 class, there's 2 new boys in my class which will total to 16 children...Both are very conversant and able to express themselves
well...I was stuck in the toilet with this lil one named N, who kept asking me, " teacher, where is my mummy? why is she still not here yet? what is she doing at home? Why she dun want 2 bring me home?" these were his exacts words, note on how the sentences is being arranged and he's just 3 years old and mind u, he asked me this repeatedly every 30secs and there I am having 2 face him while he pass motion while all his qntns..haha imagine that?? but although he's annoying at times,he's cute in his own ways, jsut stay clear when he throws his tantrums...goodness reaaly takes after his sis who is in N2...Whatever it is, I'll just make sure my class will learn what they should and most importantly that they are safe and Happy 2 b in class..Will try my best..
